Whilst you slept

Whilst you slept

Before you woke I had risen
Stretched legs on empty paths
Tethered sunbeams to waiting benches
Tenderly warmed each blade and petal
Established a conductor to oversee the symphony
Reclaimed the park from night custodians
And wrapped the day in blue skies

Ready to present to you on waking
